We’re seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our small but powerful team, working side-by-side with the founders to shape the future of healthcare technology. In this role, you will have ownership from day one, contributing directly to product design and development while helping steer the product vision. Early engineers at Vaalbara are seen as partners—your input will drive our product roadmap as much as ours.

Ideal candidates will have a mix of software engineering expertise, proficiency in system design, and a passion for working in dynamic environments.

• Collaborate with users and healthcare stakeholders to identify pain points and design practical solutions for medical environments.

• Build prototypes from concept through to functional products that meet strict healthcare compliance requirements.

• Brainstorm technical approaches with the founders, providing input on product strategy.

• Tackle complex engineering challenges, optimizing SurgiTrack for real-world healthcare use.

• Take full ownership of product segments, driving initiatives from conception to deployment.

• Explore new ways IoT and data technology can transform healthcare operation

• Has built full-stack applications through internships, projects, or previous work experience.

• Experience with embedded software, knowledge of python or other scripting languages

• Thrives in fast-paced, low-structure environments and can navigate ambiguity with ease.

• Is passionate about solving technical challenges in healthcare and using technology for good.

• Demonstrates excellent communication skills and enjoys collaborating in cross-disciplinary teams.

• Has experience building internal tools or working with IoT systems (preferred but not required).
